Dreamworld launches viewer client to visit its virtual grid

Since quality is on our list of high priorities, we think the way how you the user connect to the grid and experiences Dreamworld as a virtual world platform is something we should pay attention to as well. In the past you had to be a rather technical person with more than the average computer knowledge in order to understand the system of how you can establish a connection to the grid by using a third party client. Not everybody has high trained computer skills and many people don’t want to go through a routine of tinkering and struggling just so that they would be able to explore the grid. At Dreamworld we find it needless to make things overly complex if it can be done in a smooth, convenient and easy to understand way. Because of this we have developed the Dreamworld viewer.

Besides offering a very easy way to connect to the grid the Dreamworld client also becomes a tool to explore various new ways of building in world with prims.
If we can offer and support new technology which becomes available thanks to the collaborative efforts of programmers and this technology can contribute to improve the Metaverse as we know it today, Dreamworld will integrate it into it’s grid architecture to create a better virtual world. A first step was taking into this direction with the viewer’s release. The viewer supports large scale prim building this means that you can build inside of Dreamworld with prims beyond the standard limit of 10 metres. It is now possible to scale basic prims such as the cube, sphere, ring, tube, cone, piramid and taurus up to a size of 256 metres. These are no special scripted prims or mega prims, these are completely normal prims supported both by the server and client.
It gets even better, this improved scalability doesn’t only cover regular basic pims but also sculpted prims aka sculpties. If you wondered what a sculpted shoe of 150 metres looks like you can find out. While the sculpted shoe is merely an example we are convinced that people who are into object creation and building will see a great potential here to experiment with the creation of new 3D objects.

We have made a sandbox area on the Hera sim where you can practise with building and object creation and discover the new possibilities supported by the Dreamworld viewer for yourself.

    where do we report issues?

I clicked on feedback in the game and it closed the game out it also closed out when I clicked on to create a new outfit and then tried to save the outfit, the game closed out.

Hello Edward, the best way to report feedback and any bugs you encounter during exploring are the forums at http://www.virtualworld.sl/forum/ .
You can also share your experiences there with other visitors of Dreamworld and learn from each other. You will find out there are a massive amount of options to explore so there is a learning process connected to use the Dreamworld viewer. After a few weeks you will have figured it all out.

Thank you for reporting the bug which causes a viewer crash, there are some functions at the moment which cause a crash but they aren’t significant to explore or build in world. We are about 60% near completion of alpha testing. You will notice how more and more features become enabled in the next months and see how the platform becomes more robust and stable. It is our goal to provide people with a robust virtual world platform where they can enjoy their virtual life.
